A registered and licensed counsellor under the Malaysia Board of Counselors. Valerie received her Master of Professional Counselling from Monash University Malaysia. She is experienced in working with children & adolescents, adults, and families in various settings, including private centres, schools, and community work.
Valerie began her career in the special needs field and later on volunteered to participate in mental health initiatives, which led her to pursue counselling in hopes of journeying alongside fellow comrades as one human to another. Some of the common issues she worked with include, depression, anxiety, stress, academic/career concerns, relationship concerns, and family-related concerns. She's helped her clients through the use of Solution Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) and Behavioral Therapy.
Currently, Valerie is also the clinical coordinator in Thrive Well’s community development team.
