We spread awareness about mental health with some amazing girls.

SOLS Health was invited to conduct a mental health awareness talk at the Goal Bootcamp organized by WOMEN:girls last Sunday on the 16th of June 2019. The program was attended by 62 amazing 13 - 18 year old girls.

WOMEN:girls also known as Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kendiri Wanita dan Gadis (PPM) is a not-for-profit organization (NPO) that was established to help women realize their potential as role models and to empower girls to become agents of change.

The Goal Bootcamp program organized by WOMEN: girls is an international program by Standard Chartered that aims to empower girls through four modules:

✅ Be Yourself,

✅ Be Healthy,

✅ Be Empowered, and

✅ Be Money Savvy.

The program is currently in over 25 countries and it has impacted more than 400,000 girls globally. This is the second year the Goal Bootcamp is being conducted for 13 - 18 years old girls in Malaysia.

The mental health awareness talk which SOLS Health was invited to present in the program focused on providing education about mental health, specifically in relation to stress and the importance of self-care.

Chin Xiuli who is a Clinical Coordinator (Adult Services) at SOLS Health gave a lecture on the subject and thereafter, experiential activities to aid the girls in their understanding of the subject were conducted. The experiential activities were successfully facilitated for the girls in groups by four SOLS Health master-level trainees and six GOAL coaches.

The SOLS Health team greatly appreciate WOMEN:girls for the opportunity to attend the Goal Bootcamp and affect change in the lives of the girls.
